ballpark figure for opening up kitchen and utility

by BMM » Fri Sep 11, 2009 3:50 pm

Hi..

just looking to get a ballpark figure for knocking through from the kitchen into the utility room (about 3m of wall to come down so creating open plan).

This is in an 1803 cottage in Scotland, with stone walls approx 57cm thick. Its not a listed building.

The roof of the utility (extra room added after original building but still has very think stone walls) slopes down to below headheight and we'd also like to up the roof in the utility (flat or sloping) and put french doors into the garden.

Would like to know if we are looking at 1000's or 10,000s..?

many thanks

BMM,
Almost impossible to give you even a ballpark figure but for knocking through and raising the roof you will certainly be £10k+.
end
