I have a zigzag cracking in my brickwork in the upstairs bedroom. It was caused ages ago when the kitchen was extended. We have monitored it for two years and it hasn't moved. However, I need to do something with the crack or my plaster will keep cracking. Any advice welcome!

If by zigzag you mean it is following the mortar lines then dig out the existing mortar to about 20mm, wet the join thoroughly and repoint.
