Replacing Light Switch

by marktowl » Sun Jun 10, 2007 12:20 pm

Hope somebody can help. I have accidently bought intermediate switches to replace one way single light switches.
The one way single light switch has a Comm, L1 and L2 terminals but the intermediate switch has L1,L2,L3,L4 terminals. Can I still use these switches or but 2way single gang switch?

Hi as doc says see projects but i am not sure it will help you much for this prob.
It will be OK to use intermediate sw. I now only carry these as they can be used for 1Way, 2 Way, or Int. duty so only one type to stock check on van!
you are already using 2 way sw. from discription, ie C, L1, L2, so for one way you are not using L1 or L2, likewise your Int sw. has L1 + L2 @ top, L3, + L4 at bottom? if so use L1 & L3 for 1 way,(ignore L2 & L4) and L1 as Com. L3 + L4 as other two conn. ignore L2,
regards SPARX
