Hi

If any one can help I would be grateful, after flushing the toilet, the water in the pan fills to the normal level, then slowly drains away to about half the normal amount. The floor is dry by the toilet and the outside wall is OK, has anybody got any suggestions?

Normally means you wc is not level.

Used a spirit level and the wc is level, have you any other suggestions? Thanks.

The air inlet valve or vent pipe may be partially blocked (birds nest) which allows a partial vacuum to be formed when the loo is flushed and this pulls more water out of the pan.

as long as you're not getting any smells coming back up from the drain into the bathroom, then the toilet trap is probably full, so I wouldn't worry about the amount of water in the toilet pan.
