Hi I have a basement flat that is getting worse and worse dampwise, with water marks, mould, very wet damp walls etc etc. I have spent thousands on new french drains and ventilation, to no avail. In the dry summer months it has just got worse.
I have been advised to take the plaster off the walls and replaster with either Izonil or Bionicpore - both breathable plaster. But which is the best? Can anyone advise ? Tanking is a no go as just holds back the problem, doesn't resolve it. Plaster is def the way to go as advised by damp specialist. Izonil is sold by buildbase and jewsons and bionicpore has only been used in one building in the uk, a church, so can't go much on that unless you believe everything you read on the bionicpore website. They had loads of articles in building magazines, but no one is using it / buying it, altho there are a few suppliers who claim to use it, but it transpires they have all just worked on this one church job. Can anyone please advise if these two plasters do the same thing, and which would be the best. many thanks.
