Dear all

My stairwell is currently open, ie no banister

We had to take it off to get a bed into the top bedroom

We now want to put one back on as we are trying to sell the house and want to make it more appealing to prospective buyers.

The problem we have is that if we put in a normal fixed banister, we won't be able to get the big furniture back down

My question...

Is there a product that is removable?

I was thinking along the lines of having the spindles that screw into place rather than are glued/nailed - similar to a professional snooker cue that is in two pieces but screws together to become one

modern ballistrades can be fitted and easily removed,the top handrail can be fitted to your nevel posts with brackets fitted under the handrail the spindles can just be placed in and there is packers in between each spindle to give you a regulation 100mm,just pin the packers in to place.to remove simply unscrew the handrail and lift out the spindles.

wouldnt it be easier to get rid of the bed and put it in storage 4 now,get a bed that can b taken apart and use it till u sell the house?? few quid from b an q

then replace the banister properly! let the new owners worry about their furniture!
