Replace/Fix Single Light Switch, hopefully simple question..

by Harvester » Mon Nov 30, 2009 3:21 pm

Hi,

I have a Georgian Effect Single light switch in my bedroom. When I operate the switch the button is loose at the bottom and wobbles about.

I unscrewed the switch from the wall, expecting the whole switch unit to come out in one piece. (I wanted to check whether the bottom of the switch could be clicked back into place or whether it had simply broken off).

Instead, all I managed to remove was the faceplate itself. The switching part of the unit seems to be mounted separately in the wall recess box.

Has anybody seen this type of switch before?

If so, is it possible to get replacements for the switching part of the unit itself. Or will I have to buy a completely new switch?

Thanks,
Shaun

Thanks a lot!

I've found the part I need.

I cycle past Screwfix Guildford on the way home so I'll pick one up tonight.

Thanks for all your help!
