Which Radiator Pipe Feed

by marksp2007 » Mon Nov 23, 2009 12:45 pm

Hi all,

Just a quick one regarding pipe feeds. My house has a single pipe loop with 1 or 2 very large rads early on in the run. We want to change the position of a few rads (and indeed the rads themselves) and wondered if a feed and return pipe system is best, although I am hearing more and more about micro bore. Also having ditched the single pipe loop is it best to run a completly new pipework system and start again.

I'd say convert to two pipe system. I'm not a fan of microbore.

Cheers

ye i would definetly run a feed and return system, you can then bring system up to regs and have thermastatic valves on all rads, i.e. have a more efficient running boiler, also put in a room stat.

I would change it to a 2 pipe system but I would NOT use microbore
