Is it possible to convert a natural gas water heater (old Chaffoteaux et Maury) to run on bbq gas bottles(Propane)?

Yes. Methane and propane are both used in caravans, often methane/calor gas is used during the summer and propane that has a lower freezing point during the winter.

Do I need to use a different regulator or can i use the same one as used with the bbq? Also does the pressure of the water pumped through the heater matter? Thanks
