efflorescence on clay roof tiles

Does this mean I need a new roof?
Some of the tiles are delaminating but I have been told they can be replaced.

Good lord no. There isn't a thirties roof around (I guess its that sort of vintage) that hasn't got some tiles that look like that.

Yes you can replace the ones that are breaking up.
