Textured pain

please help , i want to go over a wall and celling that has been painted with textured paint , please tell me i can just pva it and go over it with finish and that i dont need to re- bord it all .

if not can i use some other type of material like browning then add the finish , the last thing i would like to do is re - bord and put finish over it

please help anybody

Hi mate, so long as your paint is not flaking the best thing you can do is to give it two coats of pva and add a couple of handfuls of bonding coat into your first coat of skimming which will build your skimming out enough to make sure that your paint is properly covered.

You could (instead of the good suggestion from Ross) remove the textured paint alltogether by visiting our artex removal project.
