If the heating does work, and if it has not been drained down.
Your new home will be very cold indeed and will take several days for the walls, ceilings and floors to warm, before the rooms become comfortable.
Keep in mind that you will have all the doors open while moving in and if you do turn the heating on at this time the heat will disappear straight out the door.
You would probably do best to finish moving in and then leave for a hotel or a friends home while your new home warms.
