draft under stairs Information, help, tips and advice on cavity walls, ceilings and lofts etc....

Draft cuming in under the floor bords down stairs. I have instilation under my carpet,but the floor is always cold even if i have the heating on all day. The draft is cuming in two of the down stairs rooms,one witch is my living room and the second room is the dinning room. any help pls :?

Naturally the doors & windows should be checked for gaps. But! If you have one? An open fire is about the same as leaving the front door open & have known a few not being able to get the house warm with most of the rooms heat going up the chimney.
