Shower pump cutting out

by Neznello » Tue Jan 26, 2010 10:32 am

Hi,
I have a shower pump that cuts out if breifly when the mixer is in certain positions. I'm fairly sure that this is because the flow is not strong enough at certain mixer settings.
The pump is about 4 meters away from the tank. If i position the pump close to the tank (in the airing cupboard) would this increase the pressure, thus stopping the pumping cutting out somtimes.
Have also thought about putting a lower bar pump in. Would this be less likely to cut out as i'm guessing it needs less pressure to start in the first place?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Neil

Neznello,
Could be air being drawn into the pump, have a look at the feed from the hot water cylinder and see if it is direct out of the top. A lower pressure pump will not make any difference.
end
