Hi folks,
I have to install a plasterboard wall.
I will be using the self-adhesive tape on the joints.
Can I use a ready mixed PollyFilla type filler material to mud over the joints, or must I specifically use Jointing Cement.

I ask because I have enough ready mixed filler from a previous repair job to cover all the joints, and I'm not sure if there is anything special about the Jointing Cement.

Ready mixed fillers tend to set really hard and are a pig to smooth, get the right jointing plaster it will save you a lot of hassle.

polyfilla style of fillers is also more likely to develop cracks with movement, as stoneyboy says it sets much harder.

jointing compound/scrim is the stuff to use.
