Changing Toilet Location and soil pipe valve

by happydecorator » Sat Feb 06, 2010 11:02 pm

Hi, I'm a real noob with soil pipe's. Ive been living in a new apartment for about a year, and finally decided to change the bathroom. I live on the top floor and have soil pipe in the corner of the room leading into the atic space which has a air admittence valve on the top, as it doesn't go though the roof line. The toilet is inline witht the pipe, however I want to change its location to the other side of room, meaning that the waste pipe would have to go in a L shape leading to the soil pipe. Is this feasible or will it just get blocked all the time on the bend?

Also I wish to shift the bath over, but the soil pipe leading into the attic is in the way. I can remove this section as this joins the connecting senctions in the bathroom and just sits ontop. But im concerned about the air amittence valve, as from what I've read this has to be present. If it doe's will it have to be higher than my sinks overflow?

Any advice would be great :?

Thanks

happydecorator,
"the waste pipe would have to go in a L shape leading to the soil pipe" not a problem with the correct falls and 110mm pipe. Suugest you use a pan connector which incorporates an AAV.
"If it doe's will it have to be higher than my sinks overflow?" AAV needs to be at the highest point in the waste system.

Hi, thanks for the reply, so if im understanding correctly the AAV has to be higher than my sinks overflow. Unfortunatly this is a real pain as the pipe that connects in the bath room into the atic is in the way of my plans, however doe's it matter where the AAV is?, aslong as it higher than my sinks overflow. I've attched two images to show my current layout and my intended plan. Can you tell me if this will be ok?

Sorry for the poor ilustration.
