got a shower mixer bristan tulsa which is emersion tank fed runs slow before pump switched on fair enough but when the pump is switched on
runs cold and the customer recons it worked ok before have taken the filters apart either side an they are both clean

What about the flow restrictors which come with the Bristan showers and slip into the elbows are they needed ?
I also find on most of there showers you have to fiddle around with the shower valve to set your hot water max temp .

the thing is the bloke seem sure that the mixer is shot because hes had it changed before so was going to change it anyway and also slow the cold down on the ajustment on the side

If its not that new then maybe its worth replacing or you could get a new cartridge to pop in it from Bristan.
Also check the emersion temp is not set to high ,if the water going into the shower valve is to hot that could also cause it to shut down.
