Water butts

by davejohnparkes » Sat Feb 20, 2010 8:22 pm

I have 3 water butts linked together with piping and these are filled via a down-pipe from the roof guttering.

Thing is, I know the laws of gravity comes into it somewhere but I can't figure out how to situate the linking holes so when the butts are full, the water continues to go down into the drains rather than overflowing from the butts for ever.

Any suggestions please.

Cheers.

davejohnparkes,
Assuming the butts are all at the same level, link them as low as possible and fit an overflow on one of them.
end
