I am running new plastic speedfit pipework under floor boards to come out where my radiators are, what is the best way of making the final conections from the plastic pipe under the floor upwards to the radiator valves, i.e at the underfloor point I will have a speedfit elbow, what is the best way to progress up through the flor board to the rad valve?
is best to try and connect copper from this elbow then go up to the rad or what

You can simply bring the plastic up and connect straight into the compression fitting of the rad valve. If you decide this route, remember to use the special pipe inserts which are different to the push fit type.

It is best though to use copper where any pipework will be visible. Also, opper is more robust and less prone to damage. It also looks tidier too as plastic tends to have a mind of it's own and won't lie exactly as you would like. Nearly all professional installers will use copper in all visible situations. It must be copper too for 2 metres from the boiler.

I would have any pipes that are on show in copper - stronger if knocked with vacuum cleaner - but main reason is that it looks better.
