Bathroom sink slow to drain

by Sagalout1954 » Tue Mar 09, 2010 3:19 pm

Upstairs sink drains REALLY slowly. Have used super plunger, Buster bathroom plughole unblocker (many times), problem improves for a while but reappears so we go through the same process every few months!
House about 12 years old.
Any ideas for better DiY solution or might it be a job for plumber (ie rodding or something)?

Probably matted hair and stuff in the trap under the sink. The best way I know to clear this is to dismantle the waste pipes and clean out the trap. Not a nice job though. Mine's a pedestal basin so I usually have to move the pedestal forward a bit to get the waste fittings out.
