Sandding old wooden floorboards

by pammy14 » Thu Mar 11, 2010 11:43 am

I intend to sand the floor boards in a 1930,s house. Do i do this before decorating the walls and ceiling or is it the last thing you do. I presume I do it first because of the dust but would I then damage it when decorating and painting.

The dust won't damage the rest of your new decor, just be prepared to spend a fair bit of time cleaning up after sanding. Or you could do the floors first then protect them with polythene sheeting and old carpet while you're doing the rest of the decorating. Personally I'd leave them till last though.
