Lighting

by cabledeck » Wed Mar 24, 2010 10:20 am

Hi Folks
My problem is my landing light fitting. We have a longlife bulb in it which, every 5 seconds or so gives a dim flicker,so dim that it cannot be seen in daylight. I tested the fitting with a circuit tester and there is no reading whatsoever. I would be interested to here your comments. The switching is two way.
Thanks

Hi,

After isolating supply to light at CU, remove switch, up and down if on a two way. Don't remove any wires from switch/switches. Check that all wires are tight and not loose. If thats ok try light fitting too. It sounds like you have a loose wire.

PS after removing light and/or switches, test to ensure it is dead please before touching anything within.

Regards

Jackhawk

Thanks Jackhawk, as I speak it has now stopped. It seems that it may be as you say a loose wire.
Many thanks
Bob
