Heatline Visco 24 No hot water

by armytouch » Mon Mar 29, 2010 12:57 pm

Hi all, we have a Heatline 24 condencing combo boiler, it was installed 16 month ago and when first installed required a new board because it wasnt supplying power to the boiler, however it been fine since then, however the pressure on the boiler went into red and when it was topped up we have no hot water, the heating is fine. The burners not igniting when hot water tap switched on, rang heatline and they said the warranty had finsihed but said it could well be the diverter valve or the sensor, i told them surely you expect the diverter valve to last more than 16 months ?
They also said that the pressure is for the heating system so it must just be coincidence that the hot water went off the same time as the pressure dropping and been refilled. Are they correct in what they say or could the pressure/filling cause this problem ?
Could it possible be the flow sensor ?
What possible could be the problem and if it is the sensor where does a new one fit ?
Thanks

There'll be a flow switch, either hall effect Sensor or a microswitch connected to the diverter - check to make sure a connection being made - if you cannot make sense of this you need an RGI.

Hi just had engineer out and he told my brother in law it could be 2 things the first been the diverter switch take it he means the diverter valve or the board, surely these parts even with wear and tear should last longer than 16 months, thats how long the boiler been installed and then the installer had to call out heatline because there was no power supply to the boiler and they had to change the full board because the board was damaged from the factory ?
Surely we must have some rights with internal parts of the boiler ?
Diverter valve for the boiler is £170 plus vat, the boiler was only £399 new.
Thanks
