nooooooo cowboys! don't cut the floor to fit the architrave, cut the architrave so you can slide the floor under, cutting the floor to fit the profile of the architrive is not going to leave any room for the floor to expand, leaving a gap and filling it with sealent looks scruffy.
If you cut off the bottom of the architrave so their is a gap under it the same hight of the floor you can slide the floor under it so the architrave sits on top of the floor. This way the architrave sits on top of the floor so it looks perfect but the floor still has an expansion gap under the architrave, it's not quite as easy as it sounds but it's the way the pros do it. unfortunally their are far to many cowboys charging for awfull jobs lowering the standard that should be expected :x
