Hot water flow to shower reduced to a trickle.. help please!

by waynef » Wed May 05, 2010 9:00 am

Hello, I hope somebody can help with a problem that has been driving me crazy!

We have a regular Grohe shower in our bathroom. Normally, it takes a while for the hot water to start flowing out of it - perhaps about a minute of gradual trickling, then it kicks into action.

However, recently it has been taking longer and longer to "kick in" and now we just can't get any hot water flow out of it at all, it's just a weak spitting trickle at best.

There is plenty of hot water coming out of both the hot water tap in the bath, and in the sink, however, so there's no problem with the hot water supply.

Can anyone help? I am hoping that the gradual degradation of the shower would indicate something being blocked up.... any ideas?

Many thanks!

IT could simply be an airlock that is causing the problem. It could however be blocked filters in the shower body. It might also be a faulty thermostat in the shower valve.

I am slightly confused by your saying it "kicks in". Do you mean this is a pumped shower?
