Hi All

Ive been attempting to install a bathtub and Ive come across a couple of small problems Im hoping I can get some advice on. So Far Ive installed battens flush against 2 walls and placed the bath lip/rim resting on these battens. Having done this Ive noticed 2 problems.
Firstly when I get into the bath because its just resting on the batten the bath tips forward/sideways depending on how you look at it,basically towards the person getting in.
Secondly as you walk along the bath theres a a really annoying squeak as the side of the bath rubs against the wall.
What is the best way to tackle these problems? Ive obviously yet to seal the bath in,but will sealant be strong enough to hold the bath solid to stop it tipping or stop it rubbing against the wall?

The bath must ONLY be supported by it's feet. You may wish to clamp it to the wall but only to hold it sideways and not downwards. Remove the battens and adjust the feet so that the bath has a slight slope towards the drain (using a level in the bottom where you stand).

happyhacker - that's rubbish. Please only post solutions if you have experience and you know it works.

You do not fit the bath so it slopes - the bath should be fitted perfectly level the bath itself is sloped. If you slope the bath - then tiling will be awkward and unsightly.

The supports at the wall are a good idea, supporting by the feet only, the bath will flex and the silicone seal around the bath will not last. Build a wooden frame at the open end (where you get in) to support this side of the bath.
