I have a direct water cyclinder in my attic, which supplies my small flat with hot water for taps and the shower. We are on Economy 7, and for the last two years the tank has heated up over night, providing enough water for 2 people to have a shower.
At the moment we are getting no HOT water at all, the water will come out warm, but it's not hot enough to shower or wash the dishes in. About two weeks ago my husband started noticing that the hot water was not lasting as long, as his shower was going cold much sooner. We were away for a week and a half and returned to find that the water was cold/luke warm when we tried to use the shower or run the hot taps.
The only way to get home water at the moment is to turn the "boost" switch on, but this is an expensive option, and won't heat up so much water!
When the boiler was first installed over 2 years ago, there was an issue with the element, and that had to be replaced.
What is likely to be wrong?
