Marks coming through white paint on floorboards

by abillington » Wed May 26, 2010 10:28 am

Hi :D

We've sanded our floorboards which were previously untreated. We then used knotting solution. Then did 2 coats of homebase primer and sealer (white) and we've just done 1 coat of Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Paint (white).

Our problem is that there are marks coming through the paint which look like beige streaky dirt marks. We thought that after the first coat of floor paint these would stop.

Does anyone know what this could be and how to stop it?!

Thanks
Angie

abillington,
Depends whether the homebase primer and sealer (white) was water based, if it was you have used all water based products which will allow stains to permeate through every layer.
end
