After having a new boiler fitted today, a problem has already appeared and that is the hot water tank has been contaminated with water from the radiators. The boiler was a gravity feed system and it is now a pressure system (1 1/2 bar pressure). The water tank is in the upper floor with a top-up tank in the loft, the tank also has a immersion heater. The installer has stated that the increase in pressure has damaged the coil in the tank which has resulted in the above fault. anybody know if this is correct or is their a problem with the insulation.

What insulation ??
Do you mean installation ??

If you're getting discolured water - then yes it's mixing, and the coil probably has gone. Unless it's a primatic cylinder - can't be pressurised.

Trying to convert to a pressurised system using an old cylinder is a very bad idea.
