I have a beautiful sandstone fireplace, at the beginning of this long winter we had a log burner installed. Each morning I diligently clean the log burner, sweep any bits off the hearth and clean with a damp sponge. However some soot marks have developed and last night when the log burner was opened, a log fell onto the hearth. It was quickly picked up but has left black marks. Any advice on how to clean these off would be greatly appreciated
