We recently had our living room walls and ceiling skimmed and wanted to paint them. I asked someone in B&Q how to paint on the new plaster and was told to seal them first with a wallpaper paste solution before painting, which I did, and have now found out that may have been completely wrong. Have I just ruined my walls before I even got started? How can I fix this?
No you haven't ruined your walls, mix emulsion paint with water, about 2water to 1 paint then paint the walls with this mix leave it to dry ,then paint walls as normal
The walls will more than likely need sanded first to get rid of the paste. It would have been ok to size the walls with paste if you were papering. Should be sealed with 70%water to emulsion.
