cost of fully replacing roof pantiles

by toofy89 » Mon Jun 21, 2010 2:12 pm

Our roof area is 800 sq feet. The house is 30 years old. Can someone give me a rough idea what it will cost to renew all the pantiles please? It is not an imminent job (I hope) but I would like to know if it is a £5000 job, £10000 or whatever so I can work out how much I have 'free' to blow on a newer car.Thanks. (Am in North Yorks, so London rates of pay dont apply!)

I don't think anyone is going to advise you to blow the change on a car before you've even got a quote.

I'd suggest the best course of action would be to get some quotes from local roofing companies, then keep the change in the bank until the job is done just incase there is a problem with anything else while the work is underway.

Thanks, acsimpson. I understand your reasoning. I just wanted a rough idea what such a job costs. I havn't a clue whether it is £5k, £10k or £20k. Dont want to bother any roofers as the job might not need doing for 5 or 10 years!! I will close this post now. Thanks again.
