Gas fire lighting but then going out

by sarahg » Thu Nov 19, 2009 9:22 am

Hi there

We have a lovely gas fire which used to work very well. We didn't use it over the summer but now when we light it a very low flame starts at the main point but it goes out before it gets fed around to the other small outlets.

We did some renovations recently which involved a lot of dust and I wondered if that has blocked some valves - but that doesn't explain why it lights initally then goes out. Or does it?

I wondered if there was anything I could do/check before I call a CORGI guy?
Thanks

Hi Sarah, you must be aware gas fires should be serviced regulary and I would strongly advise that you leave well alone and have it serviced before you attempt to use it. DR
