Firstly hi to all.
First time newbie on here and hoping for some divine inspiration.
I am about to embark on an extension project which involves a kitchen extension and also moving my front door forward by about 5 foot between two hip end bays.
The plan is to move the front door forward and create a warm type flat roof between the two bays ( an area approx5 foot by 4 foot) as i want the space inside the property to increase my hall.
I am in the throws of doing my own drawings but i am foxed by two things.
How do you form the joint between the existing hip end bay pitch roofs (3 sides) and the new proposed flat roof between the two bays ?
Also whilst not roofing related, how substantial do the foundations need to be for a front door to be fitted between two existing bay walls ?
Do i need to go down to existing foundation level ( for just a door surely not !) or what can i get away with to satisfy local authority.
Any help appreciated as i need to show this on my drawings
Many thanks to any respondees in advance
Doh...just found the Flat roof section in the forum, perhaps a moderator can move this post, sorry !
