washing machine in cloakroom

by Mahkrik » Mon Jul 05, 2010 9:49 am

We have a shower box in our downstairs cloakroom which we would like to remove and replace with a cupboard to house a stacked washing machine and dryer.

The dryer and w/machine are different makes, so the cupboard would need a shelf sturdy enough to support the dryer (condenser). We would like doors to cupboard, but not a necessity.

Plumbing is there and electric supply on other side of internal wall to where the cupboard would be.

The electricity fuse box is also in the cloakroom in a cupboard
Basin and toilet would not need to be moved.

Can we do this ?

Thanks

Do you mean... would you require planning/building regulation approval?

In reality, the answer would be no for planning but "maybe" yes for building regulations as you'll be installing/changing the electrics, which falls under Part P of the Approved Documents.
