kitchen tiles Advice and information on tiling and fixing tiles to a variety of surfaces

My kitchen is currently tiled all over with pale blue tiles is it possible to tile on top of these .as the work to remove would be endless plus it may take some of the plaster off which would then need plastering there normal ceramic tiles if so would i need a stronger adesive thanks in advance .

If the original tiles are firmly fixed then yes it is possible to tile over tiles however doing so creates it's own problems.

Doubling the thickness of tiling will often see architraves around doors being shallower leaving the edges of the tiles exposed. If areas are half tiled, then trims don't fit. You may also have trouble around electrical fittings and cupboard doors next to walls may catch the new tiles and appliances may be forced proud of the worktops.

much better to pop the other tiles off and do a perfect job, you'll appreciate it in the end when you realise edges, meetings against skirts and architraves etc all look as they should do.

Just remove the tiles first and then fixed all the tiles as you want then till will look beautiful...without any extra plastering.
