I have been told that if replacement double glazed units are being installed in existing windows, I do not need a certificate to confirm they meet the present building regulations standard. This is the certificate which would be given if the units were installed by a FENSA member!

Glazed units do not need FENSA Certification, although they still need to be toughened or laminated where appropriate, and it is still wise (and economical) to use a low-emission building regs compliant glazing system as it is hardly any more money than standard double glazing, and savings at least a third of the heat loss
