which timber for aluminium greenhouse base?

by toofy89 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 8:43 am

Please advise me whether I should use kiln dried or pressure treated planed softwood to construct the base to go between the concrete/brick foundations and the g'house frame.Would hope the wood will last 15/20 years-- I will probably be doing maintainence checks from underground by then!! Should I lay the wood on damp proof course material? Many thanks.( I have rejected 3 metal bases because of poor manufacturing quality. )

toofy89,
Don't use wood - it won't last.
Try concrete kerbing, you might be lucky and find one intended for the alu greenhouse.
