joining two rsjs at right angles to each other

by ron dawson » Tue Aug 10, 2010 9:46 am

what is the correct way to join two rsjs at right angles together. The first rsj is supporting the end of house. The builer is removing the wall the end is sitting on and putting in a rsj so the two need to be joined. He has welded a small right angle bracket to the end of the orig rsj and welded that to the new rsj. This means the weight of the wall is now supported by a weld.Is this correct.
