Cracks in Bedroom Walls.....Need to Paint!

by bakeacakey » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:47 pm

Hi

I want to paint my bedroom walls however, they are all covered in cracks, some are smaller and only hairline but others are large cracks. How can i smooth these out before painting? Would I use a filler or some sort of joint compound, sand and then paint?

Hope ya all can help...never done anything like this before!! Eeek!

:D

bakeacakey,
Fill the cracks with polyfilla or tetrion - use the dry mix stuff it's much easier to sand down.

I would just fill the large crack's but i would then line the walls as the cracks will come back so the lining paper will keep them out of sight for a while.
