Just a thought to bear in mind regarding running costs
Most boilers are similar in basic efficiency most of the difference in running costs (when installed in the same building etc) comes from the controls
There is a huge difference in accuracy between an old bi-metalic thermostat and a new electronic types with a switching differential of 0.5degrees
Electronic stats can be very simple dial and numbers or fully programmable
If you can get weather compensation on your condensing boiler as a reasonably cheap (£50-100) option it is well worth taking because it will keep your boiler in condensing mode most of the time
A boiler when condensing is about 15% more efficient than when not condensing (the whole point of a condensing boiler) so maximise the time it condenses!
