hi
im a joiner myself but not afraid of asking advice as i was told years ago by the bloke i did an apprenticeship with.."no one ever knows every thing, theres too much to know..", therefore i need sum advice!
i build mobile homes and garden offices, im having some issues with walls cracking on the joins, not at the ceiling, but on the vertical board joints on the 16" centres (stud work). this seems 2 be happening even when sealed and papered in super fresco and emulsioned, or just filled, scrimmed...however we do it! we use 9mm ply, good ply.
i know maybe plasterboard taped and jointed mite work but theres a weight issue, especially in park / holiday homes, and theres still the issue of movement in what is basically a timber framed building!
weve even used caulk with scrim tape which i thort mite give it a bit of flexibillity....
i know in the "old days" plastic cover strips were popular but customers nowadays seem 2 want seemless walls, im starting to think they had the right idea back then!
any1 any ideas?
cheers in advance
