Hot water not hot enough

by gh()st » Sun Jun 24, 2007 5:34 pm

Hi,

I recently replaced my radiator in the bathroom with a new one. I drained the CH system down put the new radiator in refilled the system and bled the radiators. However I now seem to have a problem with the hot water not getting very hot, I have cranked up the thermostat on the boiler to max but this still hasnt helped. Any advise would be appreciated.

Hot water problem

Sounds like air lock problem if all was ok before. If you have a three port valve you need to slide the side lever over and lock it out in the open position and then turn central heating and water on. After a few goes this should clear. If not drain system and open and lock valve once drained and then re-fill then fire it up. Of course you may have a bleed screw on the top of the cylinder primary flow pipe which should be bled as the heating/hot water is operating. Good luck, this could take some time and patience!!!!
