I recently moved into a new basement flat which has no signs of damp - the flat doesn't smell of damp (despite one small area of the kitchen which is probably treatable) and paint has taken very nicely to the walls which don't show any discolouring.
But - there's a damp, cold feeling to the bedclothes at night, and paper items left in the flat quickly warp in a damp style and feel soft and cold, almost wet.
Has anyone experienced this and can it be rectified by creating through-drafts by opening windows as much as possible and/or using dehumidifyers?
Thanks, Andrew
