Hi
My kitchen has a brick wall which is about to be covered by 80mm thick insulation boards suspended in 100mm thick studwork, all covered with plasterboard.
I believe the cables should run horizontally and vertically through the centre of the studs (ie at 50mm deep) but this will bury them in the insulation.
Can you advise what the accepted method of running cables in a wall of this type?

I ASSUME NEW CABLES ARE BEING INSTALLED POSSIBLY
NEW CIRCUITS ? IF THIS THE CASE THEN YOUR WORK IS NOTIFIABLE
ANYWAY BEING THE KITCHEN ( AS WELL AS NEW CICUITS ? )
YOU NEED TO GET A REGISTERED ELECTRCIAN IN , AND HE CAN
ADVISE ON INSTALLATION METHODS AS HE WILLNEED TO CERTIFY
THE WORK ANYWAY.

HI Mark, if you run hor/vert between fittings then 50 mm rule does not apply, regards SPARX
