Leaking Somewhere

by GDawson » Tue Sep 07, 2010 4:58 pm

Hi,

I've recently noticed that my kitchen ceiling and wall are damp. The bathroom is above and the area affected is directly below the bath. I have checked that the waste pipe from the bath is not leaking, nor are the supply pipes to the taps.
I do have an electric shower over bath with a cold pipe embedded in the wall, which I cannot imagine has started leaking at random.

I have noticed today that the silicone sealant around the bath at the tap/shower end has small pockets of black mould behind the outer skin. I'm wondering whether the sealant has lifted up off the bath and water is running underneath, causing the silicone to go black and my wall and ceiling to be damp.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Thanks!
