No Hot Water Again

by neilsc99 » Sun Jun 24, 2007 10:49 am

Hi all, not sure if this is in the correct section but I was wondering if someone out there could help

I live in a flat which has economy 7 and at the start of the year I had some problems with no hot water, i found out the problem was the heater element at the bottom of the tank was all coroded so i changed that and hot water was working fine.

On Thursday I woke up and no hot water again, the only way I can get hot water is by switching the immersion on, any ideas why the bottom element is not heating up now? Could the one I brought have a problem ?

Thanks, Neil

HI, if you live in a hard water area it's possible the element has gone again but in less than a year would seem extreme, can you check connections also has inbuilt thermostat tripped out as if you changed stats at same time as element all new ones have control & overheat functions, there should be a reset button on top of stat, also check at economy 7 regards SPARX board that MCB / fuse OK,

it could the the element again but i doubt that. I did push the reset button but did not help in anyway.

how about the economy 7 timer, could that have gone ? How would i know this, is there anything else that comes on when the economy 7 turns on ?

Thanks, Neil
