I'm fitting a shower room/downstaris toilet underneath the stairs and would really appreciate any advice on the building regs for T-ing into the existing soil pipe.
I've run a new soil pipe underneath the downstairs floor joists and have dug out where the existing soil pipe is (about 18" underground outside the back door) and am looking to put a Y join to join up the new supply. Someone has told me that I need to put a manhole cover here to allow access for rodding. The existing soil pipe runs up the house on the outside. What I was hoping I could do is to put a rodding access connection on this pipe half way up the house, and then just berry the Y bend that will connect the new supply. Does anyone know if this is legal? Any advice would be massively appreciated.
