cellar roof leaking

by doorhandle » Mon Oct 04, 2010 8:44 pm

Hi, my cellar roof is leaking. The cellar is under the front yard. The yard is made up of 3 large stone slabs, each slab is approx 5ft square . Liquid rubber has been coated along the seams and along the slabs where they join the wall. We are now having to pull wheelie bins out of the yard and this has caused the rubber to split, have put more liquid rubber on, but after a while the rubber splits again and the rain leaks into our cellar.
Does anyone know if there is a hard wearing coating which I can put on these seams, which wont be torn by bins , and which will stop rain leaking through the seams. Thanks. Just had torrential rain over the weekend and plenty of water found its way through.

doorhandle,
Having used a rubber based sealant which will be deep in the cracks it is unlikely that anything else will be successful. Regular application of more of the same is the only solution.
