I have just removed wallpaper, the walls are not all the same colour. I notice that some look ok but others seem brown shading on. Not flaky, is there a primer I could use on them first to give a good base for emulsion. The finish colour is important as I am going beige. Is Dulux the best or Crown and two coats I presume

Try applying a well thinned coat of white emulsion. If staining bleeds through this coat you will need to apply a coat or two of oil based matt paint to seal the surface.

Depends on colour, if they are dark like blue / red black then deffo 2 coats of white will be needed. The walls will need a good sanding to get rid of any paste possible a wash with sugar soap. But if light colours then 2 coats of dulux i would recommend will be sufficient.
